- This works on phones running android 5+
- It’s not the actual android Oreo. This is just to experience Oreo’s ease of use.
Google released the latest version of Android called Android Oreo. It’s no news that only some devices will get this release. But, just because you can’t get the full features doesn’t mean you can’t get a feel of it on your phone.
Some android developers are already working to get Android Oreo launcher for all android fortunately, it is easy to get it. Reddit user Amir Z compiled the new launcher (Launcher) Pixel 2.0 or Oreo with an APK file that can be installed on any Android smartphone. And, as you will see, it is very easy to manage. It won’t require any complex tasks.
To get the Android Oreo launcher on your Android device, here are the steps you must follow:
First, you must allow installation of apps from unknown sources on your smartphone. To do this, go to “Settings” menu and click on “Security” tab. From there, check “Unknown Sources”.
If it’s on, just leave it like that and proceed. If it’s off, drag the toggle bar to the right to turn it on.
Then, download the APK (don’t worry: it’s safe. If not, Google play or your antivirus app will reject it) and install it.
Once the launcher is installed, press your “Home” button and select “Always” to allow Launcher3 to run each time you click your “Home” button. This sets Launcher3 as your default launcher. Then, activate Launcher3 notifications when prompted and, voila! You can now experience Android Oreo’s ease of use on your Android device. You can experience some of the cool feelings and features.
It is also easy to cancel this launcher. To do this, go to your “Settings” menu and click on “Applications” . Locate and select “Launcher3”. Choose the “Open Default” tab and press the “Uninstall” button. This will remove the launcher from your phone.
The Android launcher Oreo doesn’t grant all the features of Android Oreo’s but, it perfectly emulates them. Since it’s so easy to install and to remove, why not try it?
